You can now check and troubleshoot the complete PROFIBUS network with 1 software package and 1 piece of hardware. Everything runs from the USB port on your laptop, so you don’t even need a seperate power supply. This results in a big reduction in equipment and wiring. The advanced USB hardware (ProfiCore Ultra) incorporates a high-speed digital oscilloscope to accurately capture and show the bus signals in real-time, even up 12 Mbit/s. The new PA Probe Ultra now also allows the built-in oscilloscope to be used directly on the PA cable (non-explosive applications only).

Common problems such as reflections, interference, voltage drops, termination problems, double addresses, wiring and connector faults etc can all be identified. ProfiTrace Ultra provides full decoding of the telegrams so meaningful information is seen rather than a string of bytes. This makes it easy to diagnose peripheral faults using the extended diagnostics that are built into most modern PROFIBUS devices. Such faults include input/output wiring failures, sensor or actuator errors and IO power supply faults.
